A bit about me...
I’m Erin O’Leary Brown, and I am an artist and illustrator living and working in upstate NY. My passion for art has manifested itself in many ways over the years…in working as a professional illustrator, an art teacher, and an artist. I work primarily in ink and watercolor, and am drawn to detail, color, story, and whimsy.
I started out in the field of children’s illustration after receiving a BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University. During those early years I enjoyed working on many projects including book and magazine illustrations and decorative designs for a variety of publishers. After I had my second child, I decided to put illustrating professionally on hold to spend more time focusing on my family and teaching, meanwhile continuing personal art projects, drawing and painting and developing my work. Ultimately my first love of narrative illustration and particularly children’s books has led me back to the beginning, and I have recently shifted my focus back to the place where I feel my work and style fits best. When I'm not working on illustrations, I love to spend time playing in my sketchbook, drawing and doodling anything and everything. During my time teaching, I also discovered a passion for ceramic sculpture (you can see some of my pieces here). I can be reached at erin@eobrownart.com for any inquiries. Thanks for your interest in my work! |
